Pam's 60th Birthday Party

A couple of months ago, Floreat Floral did the flowers for Pam's 60th Birthday Party in Narrabri.

This was a very special occasion, as I've known Pam my whole life and I was honoured that she asked me to help her with her birthday party!!!

Pam was having a long lunch on the verandah at she and her husband John's beautiful home in the mountains east of Narrabri, and Pam and her daughter Weens had worked hard to create a really stylish scene which you'll see in the photos below. It felt like we were in a trendy Surry Hills restaurant but with Castle Top mountain in our view!

We all enjoyed a delicious lunch by the amazing Katrina O'Brien from Relish Catering in Narrabri (who also catered for my Mum's 60th a few weeks later, which you might remember I posted about recently)

It was a great day. Enjoy the photos!

Jo and Andy, Sergeant's Mess, Clifton Gardens, June 2012

Floreat Floral Design prepared the flowers for Jo and Andy's Winter Wedding in June 2012 at the Sergeant's Mess in Clifton Gardens.

We did some really pretty informal bouquets, and the boys wore orchids with pride, as they were the Groom's mother's favourite flower.

The bouquets were translated to a wintry theme for the table arrangements.

I LOVED delivering the bouquets to Jo! The girls were getting ready at Jo's family home, and knowing there would be a few family members there who's buttonholes and corsages I had to pin on, I had no idea until I arrived what Greek Extravaganza awaited me! There must have been 50-60 people there of all ages - firing up for the day ahead, dancing and having a great time! It was so exciting!

Enjoy the photos prepared by Thina Doukas Photography!

Happy Birthday Mum!!

We had a fantastic celebration on Saturday, for my Mum Annie Lampe's 60th Birthday!!!

We had a lovely lunch in the garden at home in a marquee - and decorated it with lots of flowers from our garden - blossom at the entrance to the marquee and hanging from the ceiling and long rectangular vases put together by my talented sister-in-law Nikki, with hyacinth, ranunculus, lavendar, rosemary, pierus and stock.

Thank you to both my Aunt's Libby and Chrissy for the most beautiful photos! And you'll also see the amazing painting of our garden at the top that my brothers and sister-in-law gave Mum for her birthday, painted by my good friend Erica's amazing, talented and generous Mum, Diana Boyer - painted to amazing detail all the way from England - from photos!

It was honestly the most beautiful day - enjoy the photos! And today is her actual birthday! Happy Birthday Mum! xx

Lexia and Rowan, Hunters Hill and Dunbar House, August 2011

Almost a year ago Floreat Floral Design did the beautiful flowers for Lexia and Rowan's wedding. The reception was held at the beautiful St Peter Chanel Church in Hunters Hill, and the reception at Dunbar House, Watsons Bay.

The colour scheme for the flowers was blue and white, given the stunning blue bridesmaid's dresses. Lavendar and forget me nots went perfectly with the white sweet peas, freesias, roses, hyacinth, and pretty snowdrops all tied in beautifully with fragrant herbs and dusty miller.

Similar flowers to the bouquets were placed on the tables in large fishbowls, surrounded by lots of candles to warm the room on the winter's day.

Enjoy!

Floreat Flower of the Month - June

Well yes, June is nearly over, but it's never too late for SWEET PEAS!

what is not to love about sweet peas! They are pretty, smell amazing and come in a beautiful range of colours!

Originally from around Malta and Sardinia and having a deep purple colour, they made their way to England around 1700. Many varieties of sweet peas were actually created by the Head Gardener at Althorpe House (Home of Princess Di)- a man called Silas Cole, thus the variety "Countess Spencer"..

The victorian meaning of Sweet peas is "delicate pleasures"...

I hope these sweet peas bring you pleasure this weekend and that you go out and buy some for yourself to enjoy!

Emma and Ben - Shore School and Public Dining Room, Balmoral, April 2012

When Emma and Ben asked Floreat Floral Design to do their flowers at Shore, and afterwards at the Public Dining Room in Balmoral I was so excited, I love the venue and had always wanted to do an event there!

This was one of the most elegant weddings I've done - the arrangements at Shore were designed to be more traditional to suit the historic nature of the Chapel, and the reception arrangements had a more modern touch, and all the flowers were simple and white. Emma and Ben's one request was that the flowers be predominantly unscented, as there was a very special guest with an allergy to flowers.

Immediately I panicked, as those of you who have ever had the Floreat experience know, scent is so important to me! But I have to say, what Emma and Ben chose definitely had that "WOW" factor, but in a different way! The white disbuds that lined the long tables at the Public Dining Room were just so dramatic and elegant, and they really suited the room perfectly.

Suzie Hatherly also did an amazing job arranging the central table in the pre-dinner drinks area - what a fun installation to put together!!

Thanks to Morris Images for the lovely photos!

Enjoy!
