Lexia and Rowan, Hunters Hill and Dunbar House, August 2011

Almost a year ago Floreat Floral Design did the beautiful flowers for Lexia and Rowan's wedding. The reception was held at the beautiful St Peter Chanel Church in Hunters Hill, and the reception at Dunbar House, Watsons Bay.

The colour scheme for the flowers was blue and white, given the stunning blue bridesmaid's dresses. Lavendar and forget me nots went perfectly with the white sweet peas, freesias, roses, hyacinth, and pretty snowdrops all tied in beautifully with fragrant herbs and dusty miller.

Similar flowers to the bouquets were placed on the tables in large fishbowls, surrounded by lots of candles to warm the room on the winter's day.

Enjoy!

Floreat Flower of the Month - June

Well yes, June is nearly over, but it's never too late for SWEET PEAS!

what is not to love about sweet peas! They are pretty, smell amazing and come in a beautiful range of colours!

Originally from around Malta and Sardinia and having a deep purple colour, they made their way to England around 1700. Many varieties of sweet peas were actually created by the Head Gardener at Althorpe House (Home of Princess Di)- a man called Silas Cole, thus the variety "Countess Spencer"..

The victorian meaning of Sweet peas is "delicate pleasures"...

I hope these sweet peas bring you pleasure this weekend and that you go out and buy some for yourself to enjoy!

Emma and Ben - Shore School and Public Dining Room, Balmoral, April 2012

When Emma and Ben asked Floreat Floral Design to do their flowers at Shore, and afterwards at the Public Dining Room in Balmoral I was so excited, I love the venue and had always wanted to do an event there!

This was one of the most elegant weddings I've done - the arrangements at Shore were designed to be more traditional to suit the historic nature of the Chapel, and the reception arrangements had a more modern touch, and all the flowers were simple and white. Emma and Ben's one request was that the flowers be predominantly unscented, as there was a very special guest with an allergy to flowers.

Immediately I panicked, as those of you who have ever had the Floreat experience know, scent is so important to me! But I have to say, what Emma and Ben chose definitely had that "WOW" factor, but in a different way! The white disbuds that lined the long tables at the Public Dining Room were just so dramatic and elegant, and they really suited the room perfectly.

Suzie Hatherly also did an amazing job arranging the central table in the pre-dinner drinks area - what a fun installation to put together!!

Thanks to Morris Images for the lovely photos!

Enjoy!

Jane and Ronaldo - Watsons Bay, March 2012

Jane and Ronaldo got married at beautiful Camp Cove on a sunny Friday afternoon in March this year, and had a gorgeous reception afterwards at the Sergeants Mess at Watsons Bay.

Jane chose pretty white flowers, with a touch of peach for the reception. It was a cocktail reception that looked like it was going to be outrageous fun! With clusters of vintage jars and bottles on the cocktail tables.
